Elena Lee began her career in the legal field 27 years ago in a law firm located in Texas after graduating from the Bradford School of Business with a Legal Secretary Certificate. Elena is the Firm Administrator for Krevolin & Horst and was formerly with Troutman Sanders for the last 12 years serving in various positions including: Legal Secretary/Floor Coordinator, Legal Administrative Support Supervisor, Resource Center Manager, Secretarial Services Manager and most recently recruiter. Elena is currently working on her degree in Business Administration and also has a paralegal certificate from The National Center for Paralegal Training with a specialty in Civil Litigation. Elena has been a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and Atlanta Chapter since 2006 and has been actively involved with several committees, including Gene Henson Scholarship, Membership, Business Partner Relations and recently served on the Region 2 Nominating Committee. Elena is originally from San Antonio, Texas, raised in Houston, Texas and has been an Atlanta resident since 1991. She lives in Lilburn with her husband of 20 years, James; has two daughters, Miryea - a freshman in college and Victoria - a sophomore in high school. In her spare time, Elena likes to play golf, run, go to the movies and cook. |

Will Lee |
Will is the Executive Director of Goodman, McGuffey, Lindsey & Johnson, LLP. Will has been in law firm management since 1985 serving as the Legal Administrator of law firms in New Orleans, Louisiana; Memphis, Tennessee; and Corpus Christi, Texas before moving to Atlanta in 1997. Will has been very active in ALA over the years, serving as Chapter President of the South Texas Chapter, Regional Officer for Region IV, Region IV and Region II Nominating Committee member, Association Nominating Committee member, National Conference Committee member, AALA Director of Vendor Relations, AALA Treasurer, AALA President-elect and AALA President. Will is also a member of the Cyber Chapter of ALA and served on their Board of Directors for a number years, including President from 2009 – 2011. While in Texas, Will was a member of the Legal Administrator’s Division of the State Bar of Texas and served as Chair of the Division and as a member of its Board of Directors. Will is a native of Kosciusko, Mississippi and is a graduate of Mississippi State University. In his spare time Will can usually be found racing Sailboats or spending time with his wife, Pamela. |

Irene Jean-Brice |
Irene Jean-Brice began her career in the legal field 17 years ago in a small law firm located in New York while attending College. Irene began her legal career as a legal secretary and quickly learned the ropes to and obtained a position at a small downtown firm as the Office Manager/Paralegal. After getting married and having her first child Irene decided to move back to Atlanta where she began working for a large downtown firm as a Senior Paralegal. Irene obtained her paralegal certificate in 2006 and continued working as a paralegal. After having her second child with her husband, she decided that she could not travel as much with her attorneys. After several months on maternity leave Irene went to work for the firm Miles, McGoff & Moore as a paralegal. The firm dissolved in 2007 and Irene was asked by her attorney Larry Pankey and Laura Horlock to oversee the day to day operations of their firm. Irene has been a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and Atlanta Chapter since 2008 and has been actively involved with the diversity committee and eventually joined the board in 2012. Irene grew up in New York and moved to Atlanta in 2002. She lives in Decatur with her husband of 12 years, Phil; has two children Deavon and Layla. In her spare time, Irene loves to spend time with her family.

Betsy Wells |
Betsy is the Office Administrator of Friend, Hudak & Harris, LLP. She has been with the firm for over 21 years and in her current position for 14 years. Betsy started her legal career in Dallas, Texas in 1984 as a legal secretary for a small, family-owned law firm. After moving to Atlanta in 1989, she continued in legal with her current firm, where she took on the role of a telecommunications paralegal and eventually was asked to move into management. Betsy has been an active member of the ALA since 2000, earning her Certified Legal Manager (CLM) designation in 2002 after being part of the first CLM study group of AALA. Since she became a member, Betsy has attended one national conference and three regional conferences. Betsy was born in Chicago, Illinois, and currently resides in Roswell with her grown daughters, Nicole and Carly. In her spare time, Betsy enjoys spending time with family and friends, and rowing with her competitive rowing team. |

Kim Austin

Kim is the staff recruiter for the Atlanta office of Alston & Bird LLP. She has 15 years of combined experience as a Human Resources & Recruitment Manager. Kim started her legal career with Troutman Sanders LLP in 2006 as the Firm wide On-Boarding & Recruitment Manager. Kim has been a member of ALA/AALA since 2006 and looks forward to her first year on the Board of Directors as the Director of Membership. Kim was born in Lexington, KY then moved to Atlanta 1988 where she now lives with her husband, Michael and Sheepdog, Riley. She is an active church member serving as a middle school youth advisor for the past three years. In her spare time, Kim enjoys domestic & international travel, reading and writing.

Michael Steele

Michael Steele is the Site Support Manager for the Atlanta office of Epstein, Becker & Green, P.C. Prior to joining Epstein in 2005 , Michael worked with an IT consultant supporting networks for a variety of different clients.
Since joining the AALA in 2007, Michael has served as Chairperson of the Technology Section for three years. He is excited to be starting his second year as Director of Technology.
Michael lives in Kennesaw with his wife, Courtney, and son, Ethan. He enjoys coaching Baseball and Football for his son in his spare time.

Beth Baughman, CLM |
Beth is the Office Administrator for the Atlanta office of Locke Lord LLP. She joined Locke Lord in 2010 after six years working in legal administration in two small firms, Finley & Buckley and Buckley Brown. Beth has been an active member of ALA since 2006. Beth previously served for two years as the Secretary of the Atlanta Chapter of ALA and as Chair of the Marketing Section. As Chair of the Community Relations Committee, Beth, her committee and the Board of Directors held the second Casino Royale charity event and raised over $35,000 for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Beth also earned her Certified Legal Manager (CLM) designation in 2010. Beth received her B.A. in English from Davidson College. She lives in Decatur with her husband, Tim. She enjoys hiking, cooking, and working on landscaping projects in her yard.

Jennifer Brinkley ![]() |
Jennifer began her legal career as an administrative assistant at the law firm of Chambers, Mabry, McClelland & Brooks. In 2000, several partners from the firm branched off to start their own firm and Jennifer joined them as a legal secretary. She was soon promoted to the position of Firm Administrator and continued in this role until 2005. In 2006, Jennifer became the proud mother of her first child and is now working full-time as a mom and part-time for the AALA as their first Chapter Manager. As Chapter Manager, Jennifer assists the board members in their administrative duties, acts as a contact person for members and business partners and handles much of the correspondence to the chapter. Before her current role as Chapter Manager, Jennifer was an active AALA Member. She served as the Community Relations Chairperson and Director of Membership. Jennifer lives in Braselton with her husband, Matt, son, Jason, daughter, Maddie and dog, Luke. She is an active member of 12 Stone Church in Dacula and spends her “free” time reading and enjoying the sights of North Georgia. |
