One of the goals for the Association of Legal Administrators is to increase diversity in the Association, in the legal management community and in all legal service organizations.  As such, the AALA revamped our Diversity Committee which was designed to increase awareness of and sensitivity to the differences among our workforce and to advance the concepts of inclusiveness and acceptance among not only our membership, but of each and every life we touch. 

The AALA Diversity Committee has launched our program on diversity and inclusion: Waiting on the Sidelines. Diversity for most firms is thought of as a check box on the questionnaire: “CHECK. Yup, we have a diversity committee.” But it’s more than that. Our goal is to create awareness among not only the legal community, but the entire Atlanta marketplace. We want to get people off of the sidelines and into the game.
