Richard is a partner with 30 years experience in litigation, mediation and arbitration. He is the Practice Group leader for the law firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. He has previously handled complex construction, business tort and criminal antitrust litigation. Richard handles all types of employment matters, representing management in both union and non-union settings. His specialties include noncompetition covenants, employee breach of fiduciary duty claims, Sarbanes-Oxley workplace claims, individual and class actions involving Title VII sex, religious and race discrimination claims, age discrimination claims (ADEA), retaliation claims, Sections 1981, 1983 civil rights and public accommodation claims, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), workplace safety (OSHA) and disability discrimination claims (ADA) and workplace investigations.
Rebecca is a knowledgeable, responsive problem-solver. In-house attorneys and HR executives reach out to Rebecca for advice and counsel to avoid disputes and, when litigation arises, to resolve or try the case effectively. Rebecca has experience litigating a wide variety of employment disputes. She has successfully defended numerous discrimination and related lawsuits, both through motion practice and in jury trials. In addition to her litigation practice, Rebecca provides legal advice and anti-discrimination and anti-harassment training for all levels of employees. She has been recognized by Law & Politics and Atlanta Magazine as a Rising Star in the area of employment litigation, since 2005. Rebecca is a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee and Recruiting Committee. She is a regular volunteer with Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, where she serves on the Board of Directors.
