Q.   What do I put in the “Hint” space of my Travel Journal?

A.    Type the actual Hint in this space.  Example:  “I am blue.” Or “I have clouds.”  The answer to the Hint is the Clue for that month.  Example: the clue for this month would be “The Sky.”  For the word puzzle (Forum or Newsletter Hint), solve the puzzle first, then type the actual word or phrase.

Q.   Do I enter the unscrambled word in my Travel Journal? 

A.    Yes.  For example:  Scrambled Word:  ralujon.  You would enter "Journal" in your Hints section.

Q.   Do I need to keep collecting Hints after I know the Clue for that month?

A.    Yes, in the event of a tie, the person with the most correct Hints and Clues will win the game.

Q.   How do I get Hints?

A.    In addition to the following, a hint will be given for special events/projects/activities each month:

·         attending the chapter luncheon (speaker series)

·         attending a Section/Study Group meeting

·         locating the hidden, Boston related picture on the website

·         visiting the Member Forum or reading the quarterly electronic newsletter, AALA Connections.

Q.   I can’t figure out the Clue.  How do I get the answer?

A.    Most Clues should be answerable with two or three Hints.  It is recommended that you Google the Hints to come up with the Clue.  Still need help? Contact Jennifer Brinkley.

Q.   Do I have to keep all my Hints and Clues?

A.    Yes, you will need to submit your answers at the end of the year.

Q.   Do I have to look through the whole website to find the hidden picture?

A.    Not necessarily.  Each month there will be a theme topic, i.e. membership, volunteering, Business Partners, etc.  Most likely, the Hint will be located on a webpage related to that topic.

Q.   When do I get my Hints?

A.    This varies depending on what the Hint is for.

·         attending the chapter luncheon (speaker series) – the day of or the day after the meeting.

·         attending a Section/Study Group meeting – at the end of the month.

·         locating the hidden, Boston related picture on the website – the picture will be posted on the first day of the month and will remain available throughout that month.

·         visiting the Member Forum or reading the quarterly electronic newsletter, AALA Connections – the Hint will be posted on the first day of the month and will remain available throughout the month

·         The fifth Hint of the month will change depending on the various AALA activities for that month and will possibly not be sent until the end of the month or the first week of the following month.

Q.   When I type my answer to the Hint in the survey will it tell me if my answer is correct?

A.    No, but if you enter your answer, the Board can monitor and someone will let you know if you are not on the right track.

Q.   Do Hints remain available throughout the year?
